Phytotron

The stationary phytotron chamber (room phytotron) is intended for conducting vegetation experiments under controlled conditions of temperature, humidity and lighting. All these vegetation conditions are controlled by programmed computer system. The phytotron allows carryimg out various types of vegetation pot experiments, using either hydroponics or various types of substrates. The maximum phytotron capacity depends on the pot type and size. The capacity may be approximated at about 450 pots of 0.5 kg of soil or 250 pots of 2.5 kg of soil. The facility is located on the third floor of the Institute of Soil Sciences, Plant Nutrition and Environmental Protection, at the Plant Nutrition Division.
